More clearance this weekend. Saturday spent a couple of hours down the Glebe clearing the footpath (TOD62) down to the stream. Last had a go in Feb but grown [too] well over the summer. Slightly concerned about the blackberries but they are largely over or non-existent, so no harm done. Will need another go in

Had a go at vegetation on Milton Bryan (MBR8) and replaced a broken deck board on the bridge. The rest of the bridge deck board are not great, so take care. Also walked the Lodge Farm walk, which is all in good condition. The arable fields have recently been lightly ploughed so light more difficult

A bit more tidying up in Battlesden today. Replaced the broken finger arm by the church on BAT1. Could not fix the post at a strange angle Waymarking at the junction of BAT3 & BAT4 Clearing the gap where BAT4 emerges onto Hockliffe road. Tried to refix the finger arm, but the hedge cutter had
We also cleared vegetation from the intermediate gate of BAT2 and the bridge onto the Lane. This gate does not shut properly. Replaced four broken deck boards on TOD52 the Icknield Way path between Luton Road and Conger Lane. Top tip – mud on the deck boards keeps them moist and therefore aids rotting. By

The Red Kites have been really active in Toddington this year – at least over our part of the village. A search of YouTube found this video which explains how they were re-introduced to the Chilterns and Northamptonshire. It also explains their living habits. I enjoyed it, I hope you do too.
