Clearance work – in the heat

On one of the hottest days of the year we cleared the bridleway and two footpaths that cross from the arable fields behind the Fancott (Toddington parish) into the electricity substation field (Chalton parish). For the last year or more, the area has been muddy due to cable works, it is now very dry, hard and levelled out. So walking and riding on the bridleway are once again possible together with access into the Fancott Woods nature reserve.

The path (CHL46) between the substation and the waste water treatment works is still wet where a culvert has been blocked. So this path is still very wet, even in the hot weather.

We also delivered some waymark posts that need planting, but this will be something for a cooler day when the ground is not so hard to dig!
