In 2015 & 2021 there was an application for a Solar farm at Chalgrave Manor Farm. Although granted, these applications expired and now the developer is planning to re-apply later this month. Solar panels will be fitted on the agricultural land highlighted by the red line on the above map. The panels will be visible from many roads and rights of way.
The developer is holding consultation sessions at Chalton village hall on Thursday 22 Sept from 2 to 8pm, and Chalgrave Memorial Hall on Friday 23 Sept from 2 to 8pm. Some of the issues have been raised previously include:
- vehicle access during construction
- ongoing vehicle access
- disruption to local roads during cable installation
- loss of productive agricultural land, and
- improvements to footpaths and bridleways access
